Plot: Julie & Julia tells the story of two women: Julie Powell (Adams), a 29-year-old woman who is tired of her job, and Julia Child (Streep), one of the most influential chefs of all time, and the creator of the food television show craze. The movie switches off between Powell's story and Child's story. Julie Powell is tired of her job, and has worked hard to try and get her books published, but none of them have gotten published, so she begins a blog about all the recipes in Julia Child's cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, which she decides she wants to finish in a years time. Streep portrays Julia Child's life, from when she moves to Paris with her husband, learning how to cook, and getting her book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, published.
Meryl Streep was absolutely AMAZING. I will be very surprised is she doesn't get an Oscar for her portrayal of Child. This movie was DEFIANTLY worth the time. A must see!
